Tips to
reduce Salt in your Diet
Buy
Vegetables that are fresh, frozen or
if canned and have the message "With
no salt added"
Use
fresh meat rather than processed
types wherever possible.
Learn
the art of using Spices, Herbs and
various non salt seasoning blends in
cooking
When you
are cooking Rice, Pasta and/or Hot
Cereals, learn to cook without Salt
and cut back on "Instant Mixes"
If you
are going to consume convenience
food then choose those low in Sodium
When
using canned food such as Tuna if in
brine then rinse the meat in water
or preferably buy the tuna in
Vegetable Oil
Snack
(if you have to) on fruits and
vegetables rather than chips! |
